While those negative thoughts drowned my head, I did have desires to play a heroine for once.

I remember my childhood in my home state of Kansas when I came up with different characters while pretending to be anything but me.

There weren’t many characters who looked like me. Sure, there was a certain real life princess that was animated, but that story was extremely inaccurate and that adaptation was riddled with what both my parents called white denial which also included my Irish-American dad.

I wanted to feel like I was a beautiful heroine and it helped me become a better actress and wanting to get into theatre or maybe some movies.

I kept going despite me getting typecast as a villainess.
