“Hey, Darina.” I tried getting her attention.
She still focused on taping another poster to the wall without even looking at me.
“I know you still hate my guts, so I don’t blame you for ignoring me. I wanted to tell you that you didn’t deserve to be treated like that by me.”
Darina stopped what she was doing and she then looked at me with such surprise.
“What?”
“Look, I know I’m not a nice person. I’ve been upfront with others about that, but I felt that I’ve judged you so harshly for over a year now. It was wrong of me to make fun of your quiet demeanor, your love of acting, and for body shaming you.” I broke eye contact a bit. “I shouldn’t have said all those things to you since you’ve never done anything bad to me before. If you won’t accept my apology, then I totally get it.”
The tape dispenser in her hands dropped after I apologized.
