“Canberra? For some reason, I thought you were from Sydney or Mel-born.” Earl wondered about my home town.
“It’s [Melbourne] actually pronounced Mel-bin like how it rhymes with Melvin.” I politely corrected him. “I understand if you were confused since not many people here are familiar with that city.”
“I see. What’s Canberra like?”
“It’s a fine place. There’s lots of things to do and to visit. I enjoy the Canberra Nara Candle Festival. Also, it’s the capital city where I’m from.”
“No way! I always thought it was Sydney.” Earl said.
