Kalyani just pretended like my band didn’t even exist as we were backstage with all the other competitors.
Once she and her band started playing, it was just some typical pop crap. Sure, there were real instruments used, but there were times I couldn’t tell when there was an overabundance of backing tracks to make the whole live show sound straight out of a Top 40 radio station itself.
After she was done, she went up to me and said two words.
“Top that.”
That ego of hers was just so huge.
