Yes, I recall when I was at a university getting my Bachelor’s degree.
The student demographics during my undergrad years were quite homogeneous to say the least and I’m sure people could count the entire Native American populace on one hand.
Someone like me in most people’s eyes shouldn’t have made it to college.
I wasn’t going to be a statistic for what was supposed to be my fate.
“Woah, are you like a chief or something?”
“Got any peace pipes? I could use one to smoke some of that Mary J.”
Those were questions I got back then from my classmates and my temper wasn’t as fettered as it is now.
