Suddenly, we heard footsteps coming around the corner.
This was quite frightening since none of us were armed. We didn’t know if anyone else was out to get us.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have screamed after all.” Darina almost apologized.
“Don’t say sorry, Darina.” I assured her. “You were right in everything you said and I’m glad you were courageous for that moment.”
“Thank you, Lindita.” She quietly replied.
Those footsteps came closer. It had to have come from three or four people.
Before we knew what was going on, they finally revealed their faces.
We stood our ground until we saw some humans for once. They certainly weren’t affiliated with Leyden Avalon.
