After school, I just went home and had myself in my room.
I wondered if anyone would ever understand me. I might as well have been an alien who just happened to be born with a human’s body.
I saw a picture of my family that was near my desk that was cluttered with my latest drawings and some sheet music. It was me back when I was seven years old in front of my parents. We were in Acorn Park while I was holding a radio controlled helicopter while I was smiling so greatly. I was front and center of my folks as happy as can be with this toy and my complexion was (and still is) right in the middle if one saw my mom and dad in the same room.
I grabbed one of the scores and started playing my violin. It was Adagio in G Minor by Tomaso Albinoni.
Despite my botched attempts, I could still feel that piece’s effect on me.
