“I have to be honest with you, I was getting nervous after bombing those notes.” I said. “I’m sorry for my poor performance.”

“Just because it’s the first day back from school doesn’t mean you can slack off on me. You better keep practicing every day or else I’ll have to move you back a chair or possibly remove you from the orchestra.” The music teacher told me. “I can’t have a mediocre musicianship here.”

“Sure.” That was all I said to that person. What I really wanted to say was something along the lines of…

“Hey, I’m doing my best and I HAVE been practicing. I never hear you complaining about others who botch the notes. By the way, you’re welcome!” Is what I really wanted to shout at them.
