“Well, they are our top athletes…” They nervously explained.
I couldn’t take it anymore with all this stalling.
“That’s why they didn’t get in-school suspensions? I see how that is.” I snarked at them.
“Don’t mouth off to me, Hosea.” Wow, that confidence just increased all of a sudden when they were talking to a sixteen year old kid.
“Okay, so what would you do if they weren’t all star athletes?” I questioned them.
All I got was silence and a shaking head.
That was all I need to (not) hear to know where your priorities were.
